One can walk down almost any street in the developed world with a wireless-enabled device and connect to the entire world. These outgoing connections are a watershed change in how we deal not only with each other, but with our entertainment. They change how we perceive reality itself; where does reality stop and gaming begin? In this lecture, we will examine the fundamental changes occurring now games and story-telling, how they affect the player's version of reality and what they mean for us as story-tellers and game designers. |
