Frans Mäyrä Research Director, Hypermedia Laboratory, University of Tampere, Finland Frans Mäyrä, PhD, Research Director of Hypermedia Laboratory of University of Tampere, has studied the relationship of culture and technology from the early nineties. He has specialised in the conflicting and heterogeneous elements in culture, and published on topics that range from science fiction and fantasy to the demonic tradition, identity and role-playing games. He is currently teaching and heading numerous research projects in the development and examination of games, new media and digital culture, and is also the President of Digital Games Research Association, DiGRA.
