Can you hear me now? The impact of voice in online games

Dmitri Williams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Speech Communication at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Working in the area marked by communication, economics, political science and business, Williams studies how social capital forms online and how these new forms can be harnessed for community and corporate interests. His current research projects include several studies of networked game players and whether or not their social settings and contexts moderate the effects. His work has been featured in several press accounts, most recently on NPR, and in publications including the Economist, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chicago Sun-Times, New York Times and others.
