Can you hear me now? The impact of voice in online games
Dmitri Williams is an Assistant Professor in the Department of
Speech Communication at the University of Illinois at
Urbana-Champaign. Working in the area marked by communication,
economics, political science and business, Williams studies how
social capital forms online and how these new forms can
be harnessed for community and corporate interests. His current
research projects include several studies of networked game
players and whether or not their social settings and contexts
moderate the effects. His work has been featured in several press
accounts, most recently on NPR, and in publications including the
Economist, the San Francisco Chronicle, the Chicago Sun-Times,
New York Times and others.
